The cake is a…live?Good news! I’m back again with the final additions to my delicious fuds list. This time I tried to think of some of the more unique food variations of the gaming world. Some of them you may have heard of, others maybe not. That’s A-ok. We’re all food lovers here. I hope. My last list seemed to get a lot of people thinking, and let me just say - if you ever think of a recipe to go along with a certain game food type, please let me know. I’d love to do some kind of feature on video game recipes sent in by the readers. And I’m not just saying that because I want to try the foods myself…Even though I do. I really do.

On to the last part of the list!

I TASTE LIKE SOCKS! :DI have a powerful love of food. I have a feeling that the perfect job for me would be critiquing any fine dining establishment. I love salads, meat, candy, cake, everything. I’ll try everything at least once, including some of the nastiest things imaginable. I tried those gross ‘mixed fruit’ twizzlers. Now and then I’ll try something bizarre and find a gem, like those oh-so-delicious caramel bugles. You’re probably asking yourself, “What does this have to do with gaming?” Good question, dear reader. Well, as avid a food fan as I am, whenever I come across a particularly strange food(ish) item in a game, I tend to wonder just what - exactly - it tastes like. Some of them just look so good.

I’ve compiled a short list of the game foods I’d love to try. It took more consideration than I thought it would, but I had to leave out a lot of the games that just use regular real life food items. Not that I have anything against cake…it’s just that I’m sure we’ve all eaten it at least once by now.

HOP IN DUDECars are boring. What? They are. Brake, gas, honk. Brake, gas, honk. Turn left, turn right. Flip that guy off. Psh, so old. Video game characters have all the luck, really. They get totally amazing mounts to ride all over their pre-programmed world. Playing through some games got me to wondering which mounts I’d love to have in real life. Obviously, not all of them are practical. But still, beats the Hell out of the rising gas prices, eh? Yeah, I should stay away from the political commentary, sorry. On with my list!

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! Dancing is not my forte. Though some of my favorite musical genres happens to be electronica and techno, you won’t find me on the dance floor shaking what my mother gave me.

Thankfully, being a gamer has provided me with many different ways I can get in touch with my more musical side, even if it’s just me grooving in my seat. From miniature turntables to male cheerleaders, these are five of my all-time favorite music and rhythm games.

Group hug!So last week we found out who the proverbial dimwits of the sidekick world are. This week, to make up for all my nay-saying, I’m going to divulge who I think the best sidekicks of the video game world are. I admit, I had a lot to choose from and it was hard to break it down into just five. However, I’m trying anyway.

A sidekick doesn’t have to be an amazing asset, or be capable of turning into a huge weapon. Just so long as they’re faithful and willing to go into battle. Not being annoying also helps. *coughNavicough* Some of the best sidekicks are the strong silent type.

Sidekick? Or FRONT kick?Back in the old days of yore, when I would wake up early to watch Saturday morning cartoons, I always marveled at the way superheroes always had a handy, competent sidekick following them around. In the cultural transition that has been the video game phenomenon, it’s interesting to see how the role of a sidekick has transformed as well. Gone are the days of spandex costumes and lame “Golly-Jiminee!” catchphrases. Now we have robots, boogers, foxes, breegulls, the list goes on.

But not all sidekicks are useful or even fun to be around. Most of them are whiny snots, scantily clad women, or just plain cowards. Who was the best of the worst? Let’s take a look.
