I have been playing Spyro: The Eternal Night for GBA. XD It’s actually really fun, and I do enjoy Sparx’s presence. Of COURSE I love moogles, I have one tattooed on my left calf.

Also I loved Nall in Lunar: Silver Star Story. He always made me giggle. Of course Clank is cool too. Man, there are too many.

SPARX! I loved not having to run over all the gems. Oh, Sparx. His voice is cute too. SUCH A PERFECT SIDEKICK. The only thing I didn’t like were the Sparx levels of one of the Spyro games, I think it was the third one. They were all 2-D, I think, which threw me off, and were kind of like Pac-Man. Plus, Sparx didn’t have a Sparx v.2 in those levels to pick up his gems for him. I guess Sparx is just better as a sidekick and not a main character.

I have to say my favorite sidekick ever would be Agro from Shadow of the Colossus. He doesn’t talk, does make any stupid “witty” comments, and will follow you to the ends of the earth if needs be. When he’s in danger at the end of the game you really feel a connection towards him, something which I’ve never felt for Daxter, Clank or Sparx.

As a final note it goes without saying that Alyx Vance from Half Life 2 deserves a mention.

Pfft. Diddy is CLEARLY the superior monkey. Either way, it’s irrelevant, because of all of the Kongs, Chunky was the best. He can pick up a boulder with relative ease, which is more than can be said for most primates.

For best sidekick, though, I’m gonna have to say the old man from Psychonauts. I can’t remember his name, but he lives in your head and is summoned with bacon. Both very strong suits, no?

I always loved the two sidekicks in Secret of Mana, but I don’t think they count since if you had your younger siblings/friends play too, they ceased to be sidekicks and became your co-heroes.

Same with Legend of Mana, which featured a rotating turntable of sidekicks, most of whom were rad.

Also the other cat from Cattrap (it was always catboy for me, since I played the girl).

I could never tell if it was because I was doing something wrong, but I never had a sidekick, pet, or golem that could pull their own weight worth a damn.

I’m pretty sure I was just missing something…

Also, the sprite was clearly the raddest. Absorb MP was just bullshit.
