It is as a result so unfortunate that so much game dialogue is both written and acted so poorly. I find it so very refreshing when a game uses dialogue to not only tell a convincing story, but also to do it in a frankly believable way. So many games don't take any pride in the spoken voice, its purpose is simply there to tell you what to do in most cases and so when a game does come along with some depth to its dialogue I for one, am all over it.

Halflife 2 had some great quotes-"Prepare for unforseen consequences." I really loved that games dialog and how it made its main characters have more depth. :)

I loved this post! I think it's really important to say that the player never wants to kill Andrew Ryan and how terrifying it is to watch as he's beaten.

found this while looking at some of these comments. The Starcraft 64 one is the best: "I hate computers!! Give me an N64 anyday!!" Go Nintendo for promoting your game :|

Coldguy wrote, "This is a tricky one to do. Granted you need something to allow you to know the little things that happen in a game and enhance them for a better experience, however if you do have speech or a narrator tone to the game it could possibly kill it. This is where you hope and pray that someone knows how to write well and loves the project. Good writing can kill a game, but great writing will make the game enjoyable to play over and over again.

Voice is always a buzzkill to me, unless the voice actor is really really good, my mind will place a voice to the character, and if your voice isn't it, then I get annoyed as hell about it."

Both Diablos had some pretty good quotes. Especially Gheed and the named quest mobs.

Of course, Duke Nukem takes the cake.

awww Brittany!!!! I've not finsihed Bioshock yet!!!!
next time remember to run around waving your hands about your head screaming spoiler warning! :D
The most memorable line i've heard in a game for a while was in No MOre Heroes where travis says he wants to fight "Sir Harvey Motherfucker the ass clown".
Now that is quality dialogue :P lol

sorry, the first time I posted this comment it only did the first line :P
