The Media Development Authority here in Singapore unbanned Mass Effect a day after banning it. I understand that they did the exact same thing with Conan (the console game, banned and unbanned).

Somehow, they missed Witcher though, we got both the sex and violence while from what I hear the US version has censored chick cards and the EU version has no blood or something like that.

As I mentioned in one of Monique’s recent post, the Mass Effect one is what really shocked me with the media backlash. They had the audacity to condemn it, when more risque content can be found in the critically acclaimed film Titanic. I mean really, why are they getting so worked up over these games that show less than the movies they’re going to go home and watch?

Oh, I get it. Probably because they still think that all games are for 10-year-olds! Oh, wait…no, that can’t be it, since Titanic, in spite of all its violence and Kate Winslet’s nude scene, was only rated PG-13. Talk about protecting kids. Yeesh.

Wow this blog was absolutely LOVELY to read. Honestly, it kept me entertained and smirking the whole while I was reading it. =D

And I sure as hell never heard of a game called Ethnic Cleansing XD Wow the things some people can get away with!! I want to learn more though =P Also.. my condolences to your grandmother
