Staufy Not so much a remember when as a remember ugh. And I say UGH in the most loving way possible. The way a mother says it when she catches her child playing in the mud, but then quickly goes to fetch her camera for a picture to send to the grandparents. The following games are what I would consider my top seven most bizarre games. Some of these you may know, the others you may not. It’s a learning experience for all of us. Just remember that these games are all special and fun in their own way, and we wouldn’t ask them to change, would we? Of course not.

Why seven and not five or ten? Seven is my lucky number. So on with the list.

About Katt Rocking Out!

gdg_rockband1.png Recently, I’ve found myself putting away my keyboard and trying out some good ‘ol console fun on my XBOX 360. The game I am really digging right now is the popular title Rock Band. Personally, I’ve yet to see a more involved game than this.

Interactive games have always interested me, having been a big fan of Dance Dance Revolution and different arcade variations of hand drumming games. Back when I was a blossoming gamer the most interaction in a game I ever had was shooting ducks with the giant orange Nintendo gun. In this day and age there are several interactive games where you can be more involved. I can name off a huge list, but you see them any time you walk in a gaming store. Some popular examples to entertain you though are Beatmania, Singstar Amped, Manga A Go Go, and Guitar Hero.

So when Rock Band was released I finally felt justified in picking up an XBOX 360 and playing this game for myself. The reviews I read were great and hearing how much fun my friends throughout the states had with the demos was just more encouragement.

Illidan I thought I could play World of Warcraft casually. I really did. I thought I could enjoy running a Karazhan on the weekends, perhaps someday stepping foot into Gruul’s Lair and Zul’Aman. I had dreams of Kharmaa’s Shroud of Hope, and a high ranked 2v2 team in the notorious BG9. Fuck, I mean, I even thought I could have a little fun while doing this.

Well, I have my cape now and I have a decently ranked 2v2 team.

But I’m also a new raiding member of an Illidan farming guild preparing for Sunwell.

About Suzie Merry Christmas: Here’s Your Stocking

Merry ChristmasMerry Christmas! Yep, it’s that special day - that one day of the year we turn all sentimental and start subscribing to the notion of happy, functional, extended families.

Like many of you, I intend to stuff myself silly, and then watch gentle and non-challenging television for a few hours. Since I’m not expecting any new games this year, and since my celebrations will be somewhat muted by the fact my boyfriend-and-husband-to-be is STILL in another country, I thought I’d dedicate this post to all of you who are, perhaps, not jiving to the Christmas Spirit quite so strongly - for whatever reason that may be.

The truth is - you don’t need the latest console and amazing new graphical superstar game to make this Christmas noteworthy. It is time to look away from the hyped up boring old flashy titles and consider that magical wonderland that are Indie Games & Mods.

About Katt Tribute to the Holidays

I am one of those people who doesn’t notice the change of holidays until my online game patches for it. One day I’ll log into my World of Warcraft character and see Christmas trees decorated with weapons and know that Christmas is coming soon. Nothing perks my game up more than logging into a virtual winter wonderland. Seeing as I am an Internet junkie, I have seen my fair share of holiday themed events in different online games including the responses, not only from other players, but the game developers regarding them.

Several MMORPG’s have their own holiday themed events and I wanted to share the diversity between them with the rest of you.

About Leslie My Annual Nostalgia

During the holidays I tend to be quite nostalgic, even going so far as to renew temporary subscriptions to games I’d quit ages ago just to experience their own personal holiday cheer. This year has been a little different, with my primary focus falling on the things I miss in a game I’m already currently playing - World of Warcraft. What am I pining for this year?
World of Warcraft PVP
PVP.

Non-consensual player versus player conflict. World PVP at any time and any place. Kicking the shit out of people and making them want for nothing more than me to leave them the hell alone.
